Thames members through Worlds heats

All Thames members representing Great Britain at the 2007 World Championships have safely negotiated the heats and repechages and will now progress to semi-finals and heats.

Annie Vernon stroked the quad to a win in their heat and automatic progression to the final on Sunday.  The heat win also means that the quad becomes the first British boat to qualify for the Beijing Olympics.

Elise Laverick and partner in the double Anna Bebington also won their heat, beating the Olympic Champions New Zealand, to progress directly to the semi-final on Thursday

Beth Rodford and Reading University's Natasha Page won their repechage in the pair to reach Thursday's semi-final.

In the eight, Alison Knowles, Carla Ashford and Baz Moffat put in a strong performance to finish second in their repechage and progress to Sunday's final.  They must finish in the top five, in what is likely to be an exciting race, to qualify for Beijing.
