As Easter approaches, we reach the end of the head season and the start of regattas,

In the tideway heads there were some encouraging signs: the women's first eight finished a strong fifth; while the men were 32nd, just 9 seconds behind London A (the closest margin for a number of years).  Also notable were very strong showings by both the novice men and women.

At the international level, Elise Laverick, Beth Rodford, Baz Moffat and Alison Knowles are all still vying for seats in Great Britain crews.

Also worth mentioning is the arrival of the club's youngest member, Amelia Austin, daughter of Steve Austin (Captain 1993-4) and Emma James (Captain 2005-7).  Amelia arrived rather earlier than expected but has now been allowed home and is doing well.

Next month the club will depart en masse for training camp in the south of France and the selection of summer crews.
