Club Chairman Pauline Rayner is the much-deserved recipient of an MBE (or Membership of the Order of the British Empire to give the full title) in the 2008 New Year's Honours list, for services to sport.

Pauline has served Thames Rowing Club for over 20 years.  In 1991 she was the first female Captain, she has been Chairman since 2002 and this year she was appointed Vice President.  Her boundless generosity, energy and enthusiasm have been instumental in the club's progress and success.
