 | | Announcing The Tideway Ball Thames Rowing Club and London Rowing Club are joining forces to organise the first annual Tideway Ball – a return to the black tie garden parties that used to happen in the rowing community many years ago.
The event is for all the Remenham and Tideway rowing clubs and will take place at the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club on Saturday 8 September. The organisers hope that at least 800 people – both active and house members, from 18 to 80, from each club – will attend the event.
This grand day out will start with a drinks reception and barbeque followed by a private polo match. This in turn will be followed by a sumptuous sit down meal in the form of an Argentinean Asado, with a hog roast and meats flown in from Argentina, salads and deserts. Additional food will be available after the main meal and into the early hours of the night.
After the dinner there will be more entertainment including a disco and bars open until 2am. There will be plenty of other fun bits ‘n bobs including a huge chocolate fountain and waffle stand.
For the time being this is just the basic package on offer but organisers are still working hard on adding more and more to make the evening even more irresistible.
Event tickets will go on sale from the Polo Club website as soon as the exact price has been confirmed but are likely to be in the £85-£100 range, with any profit made donated to charity. Coaches to and from the event will be proivided, so you won’t need to worry about transport.
